Firelizards

Firelizards are like tiny dragons with only three claws on both the front and back legs. Like dragons, their eyes are faceted and change color with mood. They are also significantly less intelligent than dragons and can only communicate telepathically with pictures and feelings rather than actual words. The range of sounds they make is similar to that of dragons. They can go between like dragons, chew firestone and flame (even Golds without becoming infertile). Their hides require oiling like those of dragons. They come in the same colors as Dragons (except for white).

The size difference between the colors isn’t quite as vast as that of dragons (and actually overlaps with the next lower and higher colors) and unlike dragons, Green Firelizards are able to clutch and Golds and Garnets can be caught even by Blues. The time it takes for the eggs to be laid after mating and for them to hatch after being laid is about half what it is for dragons, one and a half months from mating to laying and two and a half weeks until hatching. They are playful and clever creatures and most enjoy music. Unlike dragons, they do not Impress to people for any special, unknown reason, but simply to the first one that offers them food.

Golds and Garnets can only be attained by in character clutches. 

Gold/Queen
Size Range: 24-30 inches
Rises: For the first time at 12 months/1 Turn and once a Turn after that. Can be caught by any male.
Clutches
Gold x Bronze – up to 12 eggs, max of 1 Gold (rare), 1 or 2 Bronzes, 2 or 3 Browns, and the rest Blues and Greens.
Gold x Brown – up to 10 eggs, max of 1 Bronze (rare), 2 Browns, and the rest Blues and Greens.
Gold x Blue – up to 8 eggs, max of 1 Brown (2 rarely), 2 or 3 Blues, the rest Greens.

Bronze
Size Range: 21-27 inches
Chases: For the first time at 11 months, can catch any female.

Garnet/Queen?
Size Range: 24-30 inches
Rises: For the first time at 24 months/2 Turns and every other Turn after that. Can be caught by any male.
Clutches
Garnet x Bronze – up to 8 eggs, max of 1 Garnet (rare), 1 Bronze, 1 or 2 Browns, and the rest Blues and Greens.
Garnet x Brown – up to 6 eggs, max of 2 Browns, and the rest Blues and Greens.
Garnet x Blue – up to 4 eggs, max of 2 Blues (2 rarely), the rest Greens.

Brown
Size Range: 18-24 inches
Chases: For the first time at 9 months, can catch any female.

Blue
Size Range: 15-21 inches
Chases: For the first time at 7 months, can catch any female.

Green/Clutching Female
Size Range: 12-18 inches.
Rises: For the first time at 6 months and twice times a Turn after that. Can be caught by any male.
Clutches
Green x Bronze – up to 8 eggs, max of 1 Brown, 2 or 3 Blues, the rest Greens.
Green x Brown – up to 6 eggs, max of 1 Brown (rare), 2 Blues, the rest Greens.
Green x Blue – up to 4 eggs, max of 1 Blue, the rest Greens.
