Lining the weyr bowl is a man made stone castle like structure. There are multiple ways to get in to the castle section; many of the weyrs have access through tunnels, or through entrances within the weyr bowl. The only way to get into the Weyr not on dragonback is hiking around toward west backside where the main entrance is located. This hike from the hold is steep and treacherous journey takes half a day.

There are three stairwells, two on each end of the castle and one attached to the Main Hall. These go all the way down to the weyrs - many of them connect by tunnels - and all the way up to the top of the castle, including the upstairs of the castle where all non-dragon folk sleep.

The one street town leads directly to the small beach with where the ocean laps at the tawny sand softly. This bay is where small boats are docked, or if you have the marks - parked on the stretch of land that hugs the peninsula. You can turn right and walk along this stone pathway, or continue straight to the docks where larger boats dock. There’s only room for a few of the larger boats to dock.

Midway through town there is an easily overlooked path that leads under houses and through the mountain to the other side of the Vernazza peninsula to a small pebble beach that stretches it’s quarter of a mile and transitions into a rocky shoreline that can be treacherous. During high tide the beach is almost covered.

This town has been here longer than the Weyr, and you’re lucky if your family owns either a home close to the road or a beach view. It can be easy to get lost if you’re new, to find your way up the windy stairs (there are so many stairs!) that branch off of the main road.

Just above the line where the hillside fields end, begins a young forest with thin trunks. The undergrowth is thin and new, but flourishing with the way the sun gets through young trees’ boughs. This part of the forest leads to the hilly darkwoods.

Forbidden to most youngsters and to anyone alone; for fear of the wildlife, wild felines and feral canine packs that lurk in the mountainous hills that continue for miles and miles. This is a great place for dragons to hunt for their meals if they wish or if the herd beast pens ever wane.

This beach is only accessible by dragon. It lays to the east of Vernazza only a minute flight away. Dragons are encouraged to come play on this large expanse of fine black sand, rather than get tangled and distracting the holders on the beaches in the hold. This beach stretches on for many miles. The water on the beach is a combo of ocean waves and a calm bay - meeting somewhere in the middle with gentle rolling waves that spread the long beaches.

Located many miles North of Vernazza, quickest way to get there is by dragon. This Volcano has a gentle spiraling shape up to it's large crater. The spiraling makes it difficult for one to hike straight up, but doable. It's pocketed with caves and lava tubes. Nahesa is a semi active volcano, but hasn't erupted in a couple hundred years. During winter it's one of the only places that gets some snow. There is a lake in its crater that freezes over during winter months.
